D20 After chaos, and fly

Berlin, Istanbul

There was a big party in Berlin. And the after party, always came with headache, trashy talk, unconscious, frustrated, spent whole day on bed etc. I have to leave Berlin in the midnight, so that I grasped the last chance to see more, I went to one of the most famous center, Alexander platz, Nikolakirche, Berliner Dome, DDR museum, Parliment house, Branden Gate again.

Most of the shops were closed. Only tourists with cameras walked on the empty street. Blank wine bottles, firework cases and trashes scattered on the sidewalk with snow and dirt. I took a series of photos of Berlin after chaos, felt like I were Rene Burri.

We completed almost all attrations of Berlin that night, thanks to the holiday, we didn’t spend too much time in shopping. It is the 8th city in my across the borders trip, and I appreciate the kindness and hospitility of German people.

To be honest, I’ve been visited so many countries and Germany is definately on my top 3 list favorite country. It is also a tourist-friendly place especially talking about transportation, the timetable is your best friend. The price level is lower than France, the Netherlands and reasonable; so that you can spend a few to make a living.

Also, there many critical issues of German for artists, they like controvercies, it’s the material of art. France and Germany are neighbors but the atmosphere are significantly different, including the ways of living and attitude toward the same thing, sometimes it’s competely converse to each other.

As I said before, there are so many burdens on people of German, they just finished paying the debt of world war one last October! My German friends are open minded and serious on almost everything, make me curious about how the education system work in the country.

I took the midnight flight to Istanbul at the night. I was frustrated that time, coz I became alone again, and I was about to leave the country I like a lot. Vini called me at the moment, I was touched ;) But I was going to Bursa, where my second family are.

D19 Happy new year

We slept until 2 o’clock, then went to the famous Berlin wall in the afternoon. Then we met Foochie at checkpoint Charlie, and got lost somewhere, then finally approach Potsdam platz in 8pm. We watched a movie, the TOURIST, and then heading for Branden Gate for new year party. The last day of 2010 was busy and full of memories. That was also the first new year party I had abroad. Couples were kissed each other after the countdown, don’t know who create this tradition but I wished there was someone that I could kiss.

People put too much pressure on german people. I believe most of the Germans are kind and friendly, at least the ones I met in Lyon were. Everytime we talked about the history of second world war, it became sensitive toward Germans. Our English guide said that the biography of Hitler is still banned in Germany. And then we talked about the wall, our guide said that people are still healing from the pain of the separation of the country. I ain’t German nor did I give some comment of this phonenmonon, but I believe time is the best remedy.

Chinese invasion

I saw there were graphic on graphics, like the photo on top. We can see people still hate each other in someway. It’s human being, we didn’t see any other creatures hate or kill the same species for fun or for revenge. That’s pathetic. Now I know why John Lennon would say imagine a world with no countries.

We move on to the Potsdam platz, one of the city centers of Berlin. It was 8pm and we had nothing to do but took enormous photos or ate wurst. I brought a genious idea: let’s go to the movies! So we didn’t have to stand in the cold wind but have some fun in the warm theater.

The movie was shot mainly in Venice, and I’ve just visited there, so that seen so many familiar scenes were funny. Sadly the plot were a little bit boring, I watched the movie mainly for watching Jolie.

Toby suggested us to the Branden Gate for new year party, and Jurij said the party there was best for us, the tourists. The whole Tiergarten was blocked for the party and many vendors in the main road of the park.

We drank and ate during walking to the main stage. It was funny that people were not that crowded as in Taipei. Somebody just gave me the weed hat.

And I was not drunk…

Just before the countdown, we moved close to the main stage, and watched who’s gonna sing the first song in year 2011.

D17&18 Berliner tour

12/28&29 Big snow, –20 degree crzay
Berlin

I had 4 days in Berlin. The city’s full of stories and tourists especially in new year period. On the first day, we joined a walking tour by NEW BERLIN, the English tour guide took us to most of the important attractions around the city he provided many historical facts and stories about the wall. And the 2nd day Jurij took us to Potsdam, we visited the main streets in the town where he spent his senior high there and the Palace of Poussin king. But the rest of the days we stayed in the warm hostel, doing nothing but sleep or chat, so that I haven’t post any articles these days. Cold weather, –20 degree mad people lazy.

The English guide talked us about the history of the Branden Gate.

And people listened carefully.

We had a vodka party after we went back to our room.

The next day, Jurij took us to his place.

We digged the snow first, Paul totally good at it.

In the park, everything’s covered with snow, so fairy tale.

It was minus 9 degree, and we were walking in the snow for 2 hours.

Then we went to Dutch town for Kaffee.

We jumped into the snow, and make 3 snow angels.

Anyway, I was lazy to write something significant but let the pictures flow throught the post. We had a high time with Jurij and he’s so awesome to show us around his hometown. Too bad that we didn’t make it to see each other again or Nora in new year, but still, it’s nice to see friends.

Paul didn’t let us to cut his hair. Damn it!
